WHERE ARE MY FRIENDS?

More and more I am feeling a little more lost. I have been here for two years and my friends from the States seem to have disappeared. Now and then, one will call. But for the most part, if I do not call them, I don't hear from them. Honestly, I am getting a little tired of it. A normal person tells me to just stop calling. If they do not want to put forth any effort to keep in touch, maybe they are not really your friend. On the other hand, not calling a friend for several weeks does not mean you have lost that friend. The whole thing is somewhat frustrating and confusing. Although I have friends here, it is not the same. The friends back home are the ones I have known for awhile and I honestly miss them. Maybe I am taking this too seriously. However, the ache is real. Thank God it is slight.

  1. Do you share things in common with your friends? The people I talk too I share things in common with them. One DJ'ing, another being single, alone and wanting to fix that.

I don't expect to hear from anybody in the US when I return to Europe. It just doesn't interest them, so they will not wanna hear the day to day stuff about Europe and how I find it different than America.

I've been to Europe and I'll be going back. If you want to shoot the sh*t let me know.

  2. My experience with a friend who left Poland and moved to the US is that our communication stopped soon after her departure. It's not that we stopped being friends. Simply our respective lives separated so much that it was difficult to find any common ground. However, even 20 years later, whenever she comes to visit I'm here for her and it's always great to see her. In a way it's as if she never left. There are emotions and good will that are always present between friends.
