Below is a commercial that is being aired around Europe to promote Poland. Very cool!
I hope it gets shown in the United States. So many people in the U.S. have a misconception about Poland. I even had a friend who asked me if I was able to find everything I needed here ... as if I am living in a remote part of the world. I know he is just suffering from ignorance, but the sincerity with which he said it was a little unnerving.

Most Americans think much of Europe is behind the US, when its the US that two sheet from being a Banana Republic. In many cases Europe especially Western Europe is WAY out ahead of the United States.
ReplyDeleteThat said, much of Eastern Europe is struggling economically and you can't deny that. I saw it myself during my visit in 2007. Improved from the early 90's yes, but not as much as you would like to see IMHO.
