There is so much build up to the Thanksgiving Holiday in the States that I now see how I was "required" to celebrate it. Living here, there is no such holiday and today is just another cold and cloudy November Thursday. People are doing what they normally do and in my head, I am thinking turkey and sweet potato pie.
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because of the customs surrounding it: food, American football, family that I haven't seen all year ... and more food. It is a day to reconnect with people by doing nothing. I miss that. Perhaps I can turn any day into Thanksgiving Day!
